Cycle for Paul Darbyshire

Monday, June 27th, 2011

Well done to all who participated in the “cycle for darbs” event which took place over the last few days. The cycle was in aid of Paul Darbyshire who sadly  passed away on Monday following his battle with motor neurone disease. He was a committed and a highly motivational  strength and conditioning coach for  Munster Rugby. There were different stages of the cycle which took place over 3 days which started in Musgrave Park. There was great support shown for the event which will raise much needed funds for motor neurone research. Many of the Munster Academy members that are currently staying with us here in Brookfield Hall took part in the cycle and praised the event organisers. Brookfield Hall Welcomes English Learning Students

Thursday, July 29th, 2010

This weekend brings with it the arrival of yet another group of foreign Students to Brookfield Hall to attend the University of Limerick for English Language classes.   These students attend the University of Limerick every day to study English, and are gone from our student accommodation very early in the morning.

They also enjoy Sports and Recreation classes in the afternoon in the University and even though the students are exhausted by the time they arrive back to Brookfield in the evenings they enjoy every minute of their time spent here.  These students will be staying with us for 2 weeks and they are the final group of foreign students which we will be accommodating before the beginning of term.

We have enjoyed accommodating the many different groups of students staying with us over the summer months and we look forward to welcoming them again next year.

Limerick AOIC Members

Limerick Choral Union

Brookfield Hall Student Accommodation is delighted to be accommodating group members of the Association of Irish Choir Members this weekend.

The Limerick Choral Union is a mixed voice choir under musical director Malcolm Green. Since its establishment in 1964, the choir has been contributing to the musical life of the Mid-west region, by regularly performing large works with an orchestra in Limerick’s University Concert Hall.

We are delighted that the AOIC have decided to stay in our Luxury Student Apartments close to the University of Limerick. Brookfield Hall is proud to be part of this talented organisation.

We are looking forward to welcoming our visitors this weekend.

Most students will move into Brookfield Hall Student accommodation over the weekend starting Friday 28th of August, with orientation commencing for first year students on Tuesday 1st of September.

By allocated accommodation blocks for first year students we feel that they have a great opportunity to meet new students as they begin college life. The first year student blocks are in huge demand this year with new students attending UL for the first time already occupying over two full blocks, with a third one filling up fast. We await your arrival and are looking forward to an enjoyable year at Brookfield Hall student accommodation.

UL Sporting Facilities

Saturday, August 15th, 2009

The Sporting Facilities available in UL truly are second to none. The word “Sport” has long been synonymous with Limerick as a city and perhaps that is the reason that it was here that Ireland’s first 50m swimming pool was built. Along with the Olympic size swimming pool, the UL arena boasts many other facilities such as the Cardio Fitness Centre, the National Strength and Conditioning Centre and many more. UL also has its own activity centre on Lough Derg. This offers students to not only take part in more traditional team sports such as rugby, hurling and waterpolo but also to enjoy sports such as sailing and windsurfing as part of some of the wide range of clubs in UL. No matter what kind of sport you’re into, there’s something for everyone from aerobics to archery so there simply is no excuse for not giving something a go!
